Memorandum of Understanding to establish the first creative center in the fourth industrial generation in The New Administrative Capital

The Minister of Trade and Industry, Ms. Nevine Gameaa confirmed during the signing of the memorandum of understanding between the Information Technology Industry Development Authority, the Industrial Modernisation Centre, and Siemens Egypt to establish and equip the first innovation center in the fourth generation in Egypt, in The City of Knowledge in The New Administrative Capital, the ministry's keenness to provide technologies and applications of the fourth industrial revolution for the industrial sector in order to keep pace with Egyptian products for global developments in addition to increase its competitiveness in the domestic and foreign markets, pointing out that the ministry sought to spread the culture of industrial digitization in the national industry and transfer all the international expertise and technologies applied in this regard with the aim of qualifying them to enter the fourth industrial revolution.

The minister said that the Center for The Creativity of the Fourth Generation industrial aims to provide services and programs to build the capacity of the industrial sector, entrepreneurs and university students in order to facilitate production processes and product development by applying and promoting the concepts of digital transformation, the fourth industrial revolution and applications of modern technologies, pointing out in this context that the ministry represented in the Industrial Modernisation Centre provided a number of services to help the industrial sector to Keeping up with modern systems in the field of digital transformation, including the availability of specialized software in all sectors, the availability of IOT tools, virtual reality and augmented reality technology, 3D printing, digital manufacturing tools and prototype work, reverse engineering, production line design, systems and simulation, and the provision of evaluation and consulting services in the fields of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
Jama pointed out that coordination with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and Siemens to form a mini-working group to follow up on the implementation of the agreement and work to resolve any obstacles that may face the implementation process, but this group meets periodically to evaluate each stage of implementation, which contributes to ensuring the desired benefit of this agreement, especially on the industrial sector.
Amr Mahfouz, Chief Executive Officer of the Information Technology Industry Development Authority, said that the opening of the "Industry 4.0 Innovation Center (IIC) is part of the Authority's efforts to support the local electronics industry and motivate it to keep pace with technological developments and the smart manufacturing environment through Creating a business climate and making the most of the opportunities offered by emerging technologies, pointing out that The City of Knowledge will be the icon of electronics industry and design in Egypt where startups will be embraced in this field and provide incentives and training programs as well as the establishment of other advanced laboratories to help Egyptian companies innovate and compete at the regional and global levels.
Mahfouz added that under the memorandum of understanding, the Authority and Siemens will cooperate in establishing and equipping the center at the headquarters of the Center for Creativity and Innovation in The City of Knowledge, which is located on an area of 15,000 square meters, while the Industrial Modernisation Centre will identify programs appropriate to the needs of the industrial sector in Egypt and provide cadres working in the sector to benefit from the center's services in the fields of training and consulting.
For his part, Engineer Mohammed Abdul Karim, Executive Director of Industrial Modernisation Centre, said that the Center for The Creativity of the Fourth Generation includes a training laboratory for the applications of the fourth industrial revolution for students, entrepreneurs and industrial establishments and a factory for product development, which includes design programs and manufacturing machines for prototypes in addition to the laboratory for the development of production processes, pointing out that the role of the Industrial Modernisation Centre within the framework of the memorandum of understanding includes promoting the activities of the fourth generation innovation center in the industrial sector and among entrepreneurs registered in the center and contributing to the development of plans, programs and activities and follow-up implementation.
Abdul Karim explained that the center includes a simulation of a smart factory with the technologies of the fourth industrial revolution, devices, equipment and tools for the development of smart systems, a creative laboratory for the development of technical applications for the fourth industrial revolution, and a hall equipped for training in the technologies of the fourth industrial revolution, as well as the center aims a number of segments to benefit from its services including factories, small and medium companies and startups, and students in addition to sponsoring and supporting graduation projects in the relevant fields.
For his part, Mr. Mustafa Al-Bajauri, CEO of Siemens, stressed the company's keenness to continuously support Egypt's digital strategy, where manufacturing was identified as a key pillar of the strategy of economic transformation in Egypt, pointing out that the company contributes to providing digital technology and automation at a global level to raise quality standards for Egyptian manufacturing and raise the skills of the industrial workforce in the Egyptian economy.
