Sector Background:
The cinema industry is a high potential exporting sector that contributes highly to Egyptian
exports and is considered an important art form, a source of popular entertainment, and a
powerful method of education. IMC, in coordination with the Chamber of Cinema Industry,
Cinema Export Council, High Cinema Institute, Laboratories and Studios, will be assisting in
upgrading the Industry.
Sectoral Projects 2009:

Participation in the international film fairs

Intellectual property rights of the Egyptian films

Various technical assistance services in areas such as: In-house international experts to
upgrade the local market skills in areas like graphics, animation, script-writing, editing, printing,
sound effects, visual and special effects, and montage

Capacity building and vocational training for cinema feeding industry such as animation,
script-writing, editing, decor, etc.
