The IMC National Policy Support Component is assisting the Ministry of Trade and Industry in implementing Egypt's Industrial Development Strategy (IDS). According to the strategy, the future path - vision - for the industrial sector is positioned to be the engine of growth, employment creation and export development with the objective
of deepening Egypt's integration into the global economy as a competitive player.

Project Management Office (PMO)
Following the completion of the IDS and the IDS Sector Prioritization and Development Policies programme, IMC setup a Project Management Office (PMO) to coordinate between different sectors and responsible entities for the implementation of sectoral recommendations; creating a mechanism for updating recommendations in accordance to local and international changes and activating such recommendations according to industrial community priorities.

Studies and Policy Support Unit (SPSU) The SPSU team works closely with the Industrial Community representatives in developing strategies and studies to create a jump shift in the performance of the different sectors and generate a positive impact on the industry at large. In this regard, SPSU utilizes top-notch international and local consultancy offices with extensive expert ise in the field of industry to put forward genuine development targets and implementable plans to reach them. In this context, the SPSU has finalized a series of Sector Development Strategies for various sectors that include:Textile and Ready made Garments, Food Processing, Leather Industries, Agriculture Industries, Jewellery and Pharmaceutical. This is in addition to a variety of horizontal studies that tackle cross sectoral issues.
