LINKING INDUSTRIES TO UNIVERSITY EDUCATION ANDYOUTH
 

Scientific research and innovation, when channeled to meet the needs of the industrial sector, play an essential role in the progress of societies in various fields.Together they constitute a driving force that leads the society to step up the economic growth rates.

The initiative of linking industries to university education and youth aims to create a nucleus for applied scientific research since it plays an effective role in increasing the compet itiveness of Egypt's industrial sector worldwide.This is done through launching a program that is directed to the students of the Faculties of Engineering, Science and Agriculture at Egyptian Universities.

The program aims to channel the efforts of research, development, and innovation to tackling the technical challenges facing Egyptian industry, i.e. factories' technical problems that need unconventional solutions.This can be achieved by supporting ingenious graduation projects in different departments of the faculties of engineering, science and agriculture nationwide.

Programme Goals:

  • Channel the efforts of research, development, and innovation to tackling the challenges facing Egyptian industry

  • Encourage cooperation at the national and regional levels among the research and industrial institutions, in collaboration with the civil society
  • Enhance the idea of research and innovation as an effective tool that is necessary to increase the competitiveness of the Egyptian industrial stablishments

  • Enhance the idea of research and innovation as an effective tool to help the graduates of scientific faculties seek good work opportunities
 
The Programme' idea is based on providing financial support in the form of awards for:

  • Innovative graduation projects proposed by final academic year students of the faculties of engineering, science and agriculture at Egyptian universities
  • Ingenious ideas of non-graduation projects
  • In addition to 20 grants for M.A. students and 5 grants for Ph.D. students

Support is provided in the form of financial grants presented through a competition to select the most innovative graduation projects.The competition is announced at the beginning of the academic year. Each grant (award) amounts to 6000 EGP

Another competition to select innovative ideas that are not graduation-related projects is also announced. Each grant (award) amounts to 4000 EGR Additionally, 20 grants are presented to M.A. students and 15 grants are presented to Ph.D. students, i.e. I 0 grants for each faculty, 5 for innovative graduation projects, and 5 for non-graduation projects. At the end of the academic year a ceremony is held to honor the best three projects where an award of 20,000 EGP will be granted to each project.

 

Innovative Ideas Competition

This competition, which is announced at the beginning of the academic year, aims to enable faculty students to develop their research capabilities in theory and in practice and urge them to adopt innovative thinking that is not just limited to the graduation projects that they have to come up with to obtain their B.Sc. from the Faculties of Engineering. The awards amount of 4000 EGP each. IMC organizes a ceremony at the end of the academic year to demonstrate the winner projects, honor the winning groups, select the best three winner projects, and grant a financial award of 20,000 EGP to each winner.
