Industrial Modernisation Centre participates in the launch of the final report of the production and export transformation of Egypt

As part of the 16th Meeting of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and development (OECD), the organization launched during its fourth session the report on the study of productive and export transformation, entitled "Egypt: Bringing Change and Prosperity", conducted by the Egyptian Ministry of Trade and Industry in cooperation with the Organization and the Productive Transformation Initiative and global value chains, The Industrial Modernisation Centre chose the sectors targeted for the study, and organized seminars, discussions and bilateral sessions between experts selected by the Center and development partners from the targeted sectors (industrial chambers, export councils, companies affiliated with the sector and a number of representatives of the ministries), in addition to reviewing the outputs of the study and coordinating with all entities to implement the recommendations it will contain.
The sessions began with a speech from His Excellency The Ambassador/Alaa Youssef, Ambassador of Egypt in France, and then the recorded speech by Her Excellency the Minister of Trade and Industry, Ms. Nevine Gameaa, The Director of International Projects at the Center, Eng. Shadi Nasr El-Din, moderated the session on Looking to the Future: From Study Recommendations to Measures and Policies to Transform the Economy.
Mr. Yusuf Daya, Representing the African Export Development Bank, Dr. Rob Kaiser from Malaysia, Ms. May Helmi, Executive Director of the Export Council for Engineering Industries, Dr. Majid George, President of the Export Council for Pharmaceutical Industries, and Ms. Ayumi Yuasa, Deputy Director of the OECD, also participated in the session.
Mr. Mohammed Abdul Karim, Executive Director of Industrial Modernisation Centre, delivered the closing address of the session, highlighting egypt's importance to the digital agenda, industrial development, regional integration and the main pillars of the reform program, thanking the study-based team, led by Mario Pizzini, director of the organization, and thanking those supporting the study's entry into force.
